Voter Registration for October Elections Closes July 15, CNE Says
Colombia's National Electoral Commission has confirmed the deadline for registering to vote in the October 2026 general elections, with more than 48 million citizens now eligible.

The Consejo Nacional Electoral announced on June 28 that Colombians wishing to vote in the October 2026 general elections must complete their registration by July 15. The commission reported that more than 48 million citizens are currently eligible to participate.
Officials highlighted expanded digital registration tools designed to reach voters in rural and remote areas, where access to physical registration offices has historically been a barrier. The CNE urged all eligible Colombians, including those living abroad, to confirm their registration status before the deadline.
For members of the diaspora in the United States, the CNE's website provides information on registering through Colombian consulates. The October elections are expected to be closely watched given the political shifts the country has seen in recent years.
The July 15 deadline leaves just over two weeks for any Colombian who has not yet registered. The commission said it would ramp up public awareness efforts in the coming days to ensure no eligible voter is left out.
