Colombian Military Kills 10 ELN Members, Including Two Senior Commanders, in Cauca Operation
President Abelardo de la Espriella announced that a military operation in rural El Tambo, Cauca left at least 10 ELN guerrillas dead, among them two senior commanders.

At least 10 members of the ELN guerrilla group were killed in a military operation in rural El Tambo, in the southwestern department of Cauca, President Abelardo de la Espriella announced on October 25.
The president said two of those killed were senior commanders within the organization, a development the government described as a significant blow to the armed group's structure in the region.
The Associated Press reported the announcement, noting that independent confirmation of the government's account had not been established at the time of publication. El Tambo has long been one of the most conflict-affected municipalities in Cauca, a department where the ELN has maintained a persistent presence.
The operation comes as the de la Espriella administration, which took office on August 7, charts its security policy toward armed groups that had been engaged in on-and-off peace talks with the previous Petro government.
