Colombia Welcomed 1.2 Million International Tourists in June, Up 15 Percent
The country's tourism ministry reported a sharp rise in foreign visitors last month, with Cartagena, Medellín, and the Coffee Region leading the way.

Colombia's Ministry of Commerce reported on July 2 that the country received 1.2 million international tourists in June 2026, a 15 percent increase compared to the same month the previous year. Visitors arrived primarily from the United States, Europe, and Brazil, according to the ministry's figures.
Cartagena, Medellín, and the Coffee Region were the top destinations, with officials citing improved flight connectivity and shifting safety perceptions as key factors behind the growth. The numbers align with a broader trend of rising interest in Colombia as a travel destination in the post-pandemic period.
The June figures also coincide with the opening weeks of the FIFA World Cup, which has placed Colombia in the international spotlight. Tourism authorities said they expect the momentum to continue through the summer as the team advances in the tournament.
