Bogotá's La Bodeguita Brings Bandeja Paisa to Miami with First U.S. Opening
The iconic Bogotá restaurant launched its Miami location on July 4, with New York and Los Angeles branches already in the pipeline.
La Bodeguita, one of Bogotá's most recognized restaurants, opened its first location in the United States on July 4 in Miami, giving the city's large Colombian community direct access to the dishes that made the brand famous back home. The menu centers on bandeja paisa and arepas prepared to the original recipes.
The Miami opening is the first step in a broader U.S. expansion. The restaurant has announced plans for additional locations in New York and Los Angeles, two cities with significant Colombian diaspora populations that have long supported Colombian food businesses.
The timing, landing on Independence Day weekend with the World Cup in full swing, gave the new branch an immediate wave of foot traffic from Colombian fans gathering to watch matches and celebrate. Owners said the response on opening weekend exceeded expectations.
