Private sector pledges over COP 300 billion for earthquake victims
Business association ANDI and the Santo Domingo family are among the major private-sector actors channeling hundreds of billions of pesos toward reconstruction and relief.
Colombia's private sector has moved quickly to back earthquake recovery efforts. Business association ANDI announced that its solidarity campaign has already surpassed COP 200,000 million in pledges, earmarked for reconstruction in the hardest-hit areas.
Separately, the Santo Domingo group announced a donation of COP 100,000 million specifically for victims of the disaster. Together, these commitments represent a significant injection of private capital into what will be a lengthy rebuilding process.
The funds are intended to support housing, infrastructure and social services for communities left vulnerable by the quake. Organizers describe the response as part of a broader national push to ensure that resources reach affected families as quickly as possible.
