Intense rainfall over the past several days has caused landslides on two of Colombia's most-traveled tourist corridors, forcing partial closures and alternating one-way traffic on the Bogotá-Villavicencio road and on several routes through the Coffee Region. Emergency crews are working to clear debris, but conditions remain unstable.
Authorities, including Invías, urged travelers to check updated road conditions before departing, warning that some stretches have seen full closures while work continues. The disruptions come at a particularly inconvenient time, with mid-year vacation travel in full swing.
The Coffee Region routes are among the most popular for Colombian tourists and for international visitors drawn to the area's landscapes and towns. Delays and closures there can ripple through hotel bookings, tour schedules and local businesses that depend on steady visitor traffic.
