Dollar Closes Higher in Colombia at COP 3,123
The US dollar ended Wednesday's session about six pesos above the previous close, with the official TRM set at COP 3,100.

The US dollar closed higher in Colombia on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, finishing the day at COP 3,123 in exchange houses, roughly six pesos above the previous close and thirteen pesos above the opening level of the session.
The Tasa Representativa del Mercado, the official reference rate set by the financial regulator, was fixed at COP 3,100, reflecting renewed upward pressure on the currency after a period of relative peso strength.
The move came a day after the COLCAP stock index fell 0.81 percent to 2,567 on Tuesday, with broad-based profit-taking on the Bogota exchange. The peso had strengthened modestly in that session, with the USD/COP rate trading around 3,100 to 3,114.
For Colombians in the diaspora sending remittances home, the fluctuation is worth watching: a stronger dollar means more pesos delivered to family members back in Colombia.
