Bogotá's Café de la Montaña Takes Home 2026 Latin American Coffee Culture Award

Café de la Montaña, located in Bogotá's historic La Candelaria neighborhood, was named the winner of the 2026 Latin American Coffee Culture Award on June 29. The recognition highlights the café's approach to combining time-honored Colombian brewing traditions with contemporary sustainability practices.

The venue now draws more than 1,200 visitors per week, a mix of international tourists and dedicated coffee enthusiasts who have made it a destination in its own right within the Colombian capital.

The award, given annually to recognize outstanding contributions to coffee culture across the region, places Café de la Montaña alongside previous honorees from Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. Organizers cited the café's community sourcing model and its role in promoting Colombian coffee heritage to a global audience.

For the Colombian diaspora in the U.S., the recognition is another reminder of the country's standing as one of the world's premier coffee producers, a reputation that continues to open doors far beyond the farm.
